Eating Rules Ten (10) Eating Rules

The following are general recommendations for your daily meals. Therefore they are also valid for all Ayurvedic constitutional types.

Diets Diets

In Ayurveda a diet is only prescribed in special cases. At first the patient is asked how he feels personally: if one feels good, there is no reason for a diet, because one already has their personal ideal weight.

Fasting Fasting

What and how much we eat, how we prepare our food, how much time we spend for the meal and in what mental condition we are during the meal – all this also decides weather we nourish ourselves correctly or incorrectly, well or poorly.

Restaurant and Kitchen Restaurant and Kitchen

In Ayurveda restaurant and kitchen are quite different to a usual catering business. Many restaurants do not care much about health but rather try to make the food look good, taste good and are concerned about quantities.

The fruit and vegetable garden Vegetable – Ayurveda Garden

Our Lotus - Villa Gardens

This garden is about 3 acres (or 12.000 m²) in size and is situated directly by the beach. There we grow coconut trees as well as plants that can survive directly by the sea.

Vegetarian Vegetarian

Vegetarian and non - vegetarian

Ayurveda deals with the effects of different types of food and drink on the body based on ayurvedic principles such as “Rasas”, “Veeryas”, “Vipakas”, “Prabhayas” and “Gunas” and not on concepts like protein, fat, carbo - hydrates or starch.

Our Strengths

What makes the Lotus - Villa unique / why we are No.1: We were the first in Sri Lanka who accepted only Ayurveda - Guests.
